Business was the water I grew up in.

I'm a first-generation Kiwi. My family came over from South Africa when I was six, into a household where self-employment was just normal. Both my parents have always run their own businesses.

It rubbed off early. As a high-school student I built a lawn-mowing and landscaping business, and kept running it right through university. It taught me the thing no textbook does: what it actually feels like to carry a business on your own back.

I trained at a boutique Auckland firm, working alongside small business owners, and that's where the work clicked for me: getting close enough to an owner's business to understand it almost as well as they do. It's a rare kind of relationship, and it's the one I've built everything around since.

Today I work as an investor and advisor. I've worked with owners of every size, from sole traders to companies turning over tens of millions. They're spread across New Zealand and Australia, all run remotely from Auckland.

Why I built Exit-Ready.
